DTSB Wine Walk showcases holiday theme

It was a good night for wine lovers. The holiday wine walk was held tonight in downtown South Bend.

Participants sampled fine wines and appetizers from eight local restaurants.

Each ticket cost $40, but $10 of that money went to Toys for Tots.

The wine walks are held on the second Wednesday of every month.

Those who work at restaurants downtown say it's even brought them some more business.

The event is put on by the downtown dining alliance of south bend.

“I've had several conversations with people who found us on a wine walk and are back for dinner,” said David Tite who participated in the walk. “It's not too much money, eight restaurants - its kind of like going out to dinner, good drinks, food everywhere you go and the money is going to a good cause, we're just having a good time.“

For a list of future wine walks, head to the WNDU.com homepage and click on the Big Red Bar.
