Crime Watch: Miriam Rice

Over 20 years ago, a South Bend woman was killed and police are still looking for whomever was involved.

Lieutentant Cindy Kilgore of Crime Stoppers joined Tricia Sloma on 16 Morning News to discuss the crime.

On June 24, 1988, 28-year-old Miriam Rice left her house in the 800 block of Park Avenue in South Bend to walk her dog.

About an hour later, Miriam's family reported her missing to the South Bend Police. The next day, Miriam's dog was found hiding under a car on Riverside Drive.

Police and Miriam's family and friends conducted an intense search.

Miriam's body was discovered two miles away on the north bank of Pinhook Lagoon, hidden among dense trees and brush.

Miriam died of multiple skull fractures. She was four months pregnant.
