Crime Watch: Robert Winter


On Sunday night, April 1st, 2007, Michigan City police were dispatched to 1300 Lafayette Street on reports of several shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers found 24-year old Robert “RJ” Winter lying face down in his yard at 1316 Lafayette. Robert had been shot several times with a handgun and died from his wounds.

Robert had just arrived home in his distinctive blue Chevy Monte Carlo when he was confronted in his yard. Possible suspects were seen running from the area.

Michigan City police investigators have followed many leads and conducted numerous interviews, and are again asking for help from the public.
