Crime Watch: Construction equipment theft & cold case homicide

In this week’s Crime Watch, Crime Stoppers is reaching out to the public to help police solve two different cases.

CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT THEFT

The search is on for who stole about $100,000 worth of equipment from a Mishawaka construction site. It happened sometime between 7 p.m. August 7 and 7 a.m. August 8.

The locks were cut on a fenced storage yard near 57901 Oakside Rd., north of 12th & Harrison Rd.

A huge front end loader assembly was moved aside so the suspects could get into two Selge Construction trailers parked there. The trailers were towed backwards out of the area and to the east, all the while gouging the pavement.

If you know anything about either of these cases, you can leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling (574) 288-STOP or 800-342-STOP. You may be eligible for a reward if your information leads to an arrest.
