On Friday, police officers from around the state were in our area, to honor officers who have died in the line of duty.
The 12th Annual Cops Cycling for Survivors ride made its way through St. Joseph County Friday morning.
They started at Bethel College and rode 30 miles to the New Carlisle Cemetery.
There, they stopped to remember LaPorte County Sheriff Deputy Neil Thompson, who was killed nearly 25 years ago.
This year's ride is especially meaningful to the officers, since three have died in action in just the past two weeks.
Twenty riders were in New Carlisle on Friday, but by the end of their trip, there will be 66.
The annual ride ends July 26 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
