LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. The case went cold for more than 30 years, now a LaPorte County man has been convicted of the murder of a prison inmate.

Paul Stucker, 52, was convicted of murder Thursday in the killing of Johnny Hodge, 34.

Stucker was in the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City when Hodge was killed in 1983.

Hodge had been serving a life sentence for two murders.

Prosecutors say Stucker splashed Hodge with gasoline he obtained from a prison shop and set the cell ablaze.

Stucker was captured in Louisiana in March of last year.
