It is a sign of the times. The City of South Bend has hired a firm, to remove the signs associated with the College Football Hall of Fame.
The Hall shut down at the end of December, but the building is still marked by signs, high flying football flags, and even a goal post on the grid-iron plaza.
“At this point in time we believe the turf will stay but no, we are going to take down the building signage, and just try to get it prepped for whatever its next use is,” says Bill Schalliol from the South Bend Department of Community Investment. “So we are trying to remove the football uses, and just try to get it to the point where it is marketable for other uses.”
The sign removal contract will cost the city about $2,300.
