City by City report for January 8, 2013

Here's a recap of our City By City report from Wednesday, January 8, 2014:

Warsaw
Two missing teens who were believed to have been in Warsaw have been found in Florida. Police had thought they were in Warsaw, based on a cell phone ping. However they later said they traced the wrong phone. According to Stacey Page Online, they ran away from their homes in Wisconsin last week.

Marshall County
If you live in Marshall County, keep an eye out for a red paper plane! It was launched from a high-altitude balloon, in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record. This isn't your typical paper plane. It has a 28 inch wingspan, and it's made of cardboard and poster board. It's also equipped with GPS, a camera, a flight computer and batteries.

Culver
A 3-year-old girl with kidney cancer was in Indianapolis on Monday, receiving radiation treatment. Because of the weather, volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House weren't there to stock the kitchen with food. No one was delivering because of the storm, so the child's grandmother posted the problem on Facebook. Within an hour, 20 pizzas, 20 subs, and loads of soda arrived -- all paid for by kind strangers on Facebook.

Elkhart
Your afternoon fast food fix is the latest casualty of this week's winter storm. The McDonald's on N Main in Elkhart was set to receive a shipment of sandwich buns Monday, but the store was closed. According to The Elkhart Truth, employees had to reach out to other Michiana locations for help.

This Saturday is the ceremony for the 2014 Miss Kosciusko County scholarship program. The program awards more than $1,600 in scholarships. It all starts at 5p.m. at the Wawasee Middle School in Syracuse.
