Here's a recap of our City by City report for January 10, 2014:

Benton Township
The first of three Benton Township police officers who were offered early retirement has accepted, and according to The Herald Palladium, the other two are likely to follow. Officers with 18 of more years’ experience were offered early retirement as a cost-saving measure. It has not been decided if they'll be replaced with full or part-time officers.

Coloma Township
Coloma township residents, especially on the lakefront, will have to be more careful about where they place boats with permanent covers. The Herald Palladium reports that the township is strengthening language that prohibits residents from having structures in their yards that don't meet zoning requirements. Permanent boat covers are similar to boat houses.
