South Bend, Ind. The city of South Bend is trying to make the former College Football Hall of Fame building look more attractive to a potential private buyer.
The city is appealing the assessed value placed on the hall for property tax purposes.
That taxable value is $6 million.
In 2011, when the city first tried to sell the hall, appraisers placed the value at $2.6 million.
On Thursday, the owner of the hall, The City Redevelopment Commission, will be asked to hire a consultant to assist in the appeal process.
