St. Joseph County
The St. Joseph County Republican Party will officially introduce their candidate for county clerk, today. The committee voted unanimously for Aaron Troutmiller to fill the vacant spot on the general election ballot. He will take on the incumbent, democrat county clerk Terri Rethlake.
Harper Lee's classic "To Kill a Mockingbird" is coming to the stage starting this weekend. It will be at the South Bend Civic Theatres' Wilson Mainstage starting on Friday night and it will run through June 8.
If you're in the mood for wine, cheese, and chocolate you can get your fill at an annual event on Friday at Oakwood Resort in Syracuse from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. All proceeds benefit Chautauqua Wawasee community events. Tickets are available online. Here is a link to more information.
Jazz fans, you're going to want to free your calendars in early June. On June 2, the Lerner Theater will host a party to preview the Elkhart Jazz Festival. It starts at 1 p.m. and will feature the Dave Bennett Trio. Tickets are $15 dollars to the public, and free to Four Arts club members.
Golf lovers, there is an opportunity to play the game you love for a good cause. The Kosciusko Board of Realtors is hosting the 21st annual charity golf outing on June 9 at the Tippecanoe Lake County Country Club in Leesberg. Proceeds from the event benefit Kosciusko Board of Realtors children's charities including three annual $1,000 college scholarships. A luncheon will kick off the event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The annual art show at Wawasee High School is this weekend. It’s being held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the high school. Students and others will be showing off drawings, paintings and sculptures. For more info you can call the high school at 574-457-3147.
