Here's a recap of our City By City report from Friday, June 20, 2014:
The Silver Lake Days festival kicks off Friday with a car show. It's going on in downtown Silver Lakes and it’s free to get in. There will also be an ice cream social and rides for kids and live music at 8 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights. There is also a parade at 11 a.m. sharp on Saturday and later a hog roast and corn hole tournament. Silver Lake Days is sponsored by the Silver Lake Lions Club.
Dan Savoie will be rockin' on the Jon Hunt Plaza downtown on Friday. He's the featured entertainment for this week's edition of Fridays by the Fountain. The free outdoor lunch-time concert series runs from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. across from the Morris Performing Arts Center. There are food vendors available or you can choose to bring your own lunch. You can also bring a blanket and relax on the lawn, or there are tables set up.
Find your inner Zen at "Yoga in the Gardens" this weekend in Elkhart. It is happening at Wellfield Botanic Gardens at 9:15 a.m. every Saturday as well as on Sundays at 3 p.m. No registration is necessary. It costs $7 for members or $10 for non-members. All levels of experience are welcome. You should bring a yoga mat or towel and dress comfortably.
