Here's a recap of our City By City report from Friday July 18, 2014:
A recent complaint on Facebook said the Berrien County Parks Department won't allow ceremonies at Silver Beach County Park. But according to our reporting partners at WSJM, the parks director says that is not true. Small groups can even hold weddings on the sand. They say Shadowland Pavilion is already booked every Saturday this summer but they will be opening up reservations for the new Dunes Pavilion next week.
Friday is Reminiscences Day in Shipshewana. The celebration is going on from noon to 7 p.m. as well as Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They're celebrating the memories of Shipshewana and of the area when it was a logging and farming town back in the late 1800's and early 1900's. This is all taking place around the one room Farver School and the community park. We have a link to more details on the Big Red Bar.
Just in time for the return of the warm weather, there's a flower show going on Friday and Saturday at the Niles District Library. Several garden clubs will be there and it's all free of charge. The library is located at 620 E. Main St.
