There will be carnival games, inflatables, a drumline performance and of course the all-city pep rally featuring the Memorial and Central marching bands and cheerleaders; the fun starts at five o'clock. The school district is also planning a special thank you to the community for voting yes to the school referendum.
If you're looking for more action this weekend, there's a free live stunt show on Saturday in Elkhart. It's going on at North End Cycle on Cassopolis Street, to celebrate its 45th anniversary and its fifth annual customer celebration stunt. Stunt rider Cody Cavanaugh will perform rare back flips at 12:30, 2 and 3:30 p.m. He's putting on stunts that weren't even shown at the Red Bud national competition.
The “Big Give” is going on in Warsaw on Sunday. They will be handing out a new outfit for kids in preschool to sixth grades while supplies last and there will be free haircuts, food, games, face painting and more. This is all happening at Warsaw Wesleyan Church on West Old Road 30 from 3 to 6 p.m.
On Monday, August 11, kids can meet a circus clown at the Lakeville Library from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. It’s all to get folks excited about the Kelly Circus that’s coming to Lakeville on August 24. Show times for the circus will be 2 and 5 p.m. at Wilson Field which is on the Northwest edge of town.
If you're hungry, you can eat for a cause this weekend. Evil Czech Brewery and Cordance Tavern are teaming up to throw a fundraiser for Memorial Children's Hospital. They're calling it "The Event". It starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at the brewery on Main Street in Mishawaka. In addition to a lot of food, there will be live music at 6 p.m. and a silent auction. The restaurant will donate 100% of the $10 cover charge to the children's hospital.
