Mishawaka, Ind. After much anticipation, the Chocolate Café in Mishawaka is now open. The new store is located at 117 S. Main Street in Mishawaka. It opens at 7 a.m. and stays open until 8 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays it stays open until 10 p.m.
The co-owner, Todd Berger tells NewsCenter 16 that he and his partner were the original owners of the Beanery. That shop was open from 2002 to 2005. A couple years after selling it they wanted it back so they bought a franchise from Mark Tarner, the owner of the South Bend Chocolate Company. Berger and his partner thought a cafe would be a great fit in the downtown Mishawaka area. Plus, it would help them open up another store, something they have wanted to do.
To celebrate the grand opening, they’re having discounted lunch specials and chocolate items. Everything that you can buy at the South Bend location you can get at the Mishawaka store.
“I love interacting with the customers. Without the customers we wouldn't be here and getting to know them and getting to know they're names and what they like, just the customer interaction, I think I enjoy that the most,” says Berger.
The Chocolate Café in Mishawaka is accepting applications at this time. Berger says they do have a couple of openings right now. All you have to do is go down to the Mishawaka location and fill out an application.
