Charges have been filed in connection with an officer-involved chase Tuesday afternoon.
It began at Ford and Brookfield in South Bend around 3:45. Police received a call about a disturbance involving a weapon. They found two men on the scene and ordered them to stop.
One of the men, 37-year-old Jaime Duron, listened to the police, while a second person, 36-year-old Joseph Fuentes, fled in a car.
Police began chasing Fuentes and he eventually crashed. Fuentes fled the car on foot, pulled out a gun and shot at an officer three times. The officer did not return fire.
Fuentes is charged with attempted murder and criminal recklessness, among other charges. He's being held on $100,000 bond. Duron is charged with intimidation.
