An autopsy was performed for the Michiana doctor who went missing during a hike in Colorado.
The Eagle County Coroner determined the cause of death for James McGrogan as multiple injuries, including head injuries, due to a fall. His death was ruled an accident.
McGrogan, 39, separated from his group while hiking near Vail, Colorado on March 14. The group was planning on meeting at the Eisman Hut.
That evening, fellow hikers notified police that McGrogan was missing.
On April 3, two skiers found a body in an ice fall in the Booth Falls area, north of Vail.
Booth Falls is located about four and a half miles east of the trail that leads to the hut where McGrogan and the other hikers were supposed to meet.
Doctor James McGrogan started working for Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in February.
