A precinct caucus has officially been set to replace former Penn Township trustee Jeff Dean, whose resignation took effect on Friday.
Dean pleaded guilty in May to charges that he mismanaged township money.
He's accused of hiring his live-in girlfriend at the time as an administrative assistant and then paying her an extra $25,000 for cleaning work that she didn't complete.
His sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 30th.
Today state Senator John Broden announced the caucus to elect a new trustee will take place on Thursday, July 26th at 5:30 at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
The president of the township advisory board, Charlie Gray, will assume the duties of the trustee until a replacement is named.
