Catholic Education Week is in full force this week, and South Bend was not left out. Twenty two well-deserving educators received the Light of Learning Award in recognition of their positive impact on the Catholic Education.
The annual luncheon brought together more than 350 people from the area, including our very own, Jeff Jeffers.
The keynote speaker, Bishop Kevin Rhoades says he's filled with gratitude for the teachers that go above and beyond the call of duty.
“Their dedication which I have witnessed in the classroom when I make my visits there is love for the students and they genuinely care for their growth, intellectually, spiritually, morally,” explains The Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend Bishop Kevin Rhoades. “That is what makes our Catholic schools successful, because of the teachers.”
The Bishop visited a high school in Fort Wayne Tuesday, and met with officials at Notre Dame Wedn before heading off to Elkhart.
