BENTON HARBOR Caregivers are invited into the home when their patients are in a vulnerable place, dependent on help. This week, a woman was sentenced for violating that trusting relationship.
The Herald Palladium reports that Tameka Dudley, 37, worked for the Benton Harbor company called Right at Home.
She stole checks meant for her patients and took blank checks from their purses. She filled them out herself and cashed in more than $1,200.
In Berrien County Court this week, she was ordered to pay more than $4,000 dollars back to her victims.She will also spend three years on probation, with the first 120 days in jail.
