A 69 year old Illinois woman drove her car into the brick wall of the Indiana Toll Road Administration Building at Ash Road this afternoon.
Shirley Wolebn drove her silver BMW off the toll road, into the parking lot, and into a parking space at the rear of the building.
Wolebn's daughter then went inside to ask for directions to Detroit. Soon afterward, the car left the parking space, jumped a curb, traveled about 50 feet across the lawn and crashed into a brick wall.
"You know, the whole building just shook, so we didn't quite know what was going on until everybody ran up front, but it was scary," said toll road worker Tina Peters.
"Everything inside appears to be fine there's a little damage inside the building where the wall is pushed in, but everybody that was in the room seems to be okay" said Indiana State Trooper Nick Meade.
Wolebn was taken to the hospital although her injuries did not appear life threatening.
The impact was strong enough to deploy the car's airbag, and it pushed in a small portion of the brick wall about four or five inches.
