Buyer puts offer down for two vacant school buildings in Benton Harbor

Benton Harbor, Mich. There may be a buyer for two vacant Benton Harbor school buildings.

According to our reporting partners at the Herald Palladium, the developer of Sterne Brunson Elementary, has offered to buy Calvin Britain and Fair Plain Northeast for $100,000 each.

There are currently eight vacant school buildings in the district. Superintendent Leonard Seawood says those buildings have seen problems in the past, and have been broken into and vandalized.

Seawood plans to discuss the interest at the next board meeting.
