ELKHART An Elkhart business is looking to expand, and that could mean the permanent closure of a south side road.

The Elkhart Truth reports that MOR/ryde International is asking the city to close Moyer Avenue, between Bar Street and Folsom Street. The steel-manufacturing company already owns all the property on both sides of Moyer.

If the city agrees, MOR/ryde will fund sidewalk improvements along Sterling and Elizabeth Street. Plus 100 new workers will be hired for the new facility.

A final vote is scheduled for July. If approved, the construction will begin next year.
