LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. A car and horse-drawn buggy collided in LaGrange County on Monday. The accident happened on U.S. 20 near 9500 West, when the buggy carrying a mother and her baby crossed the center line.

According to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth, the car crashed into the buggy's horse, hit a ravine, and spun into a creek bed.
The driver—Rachel Skaggs of Ligonier—had to be cut from the car and taken to the hospital with spine, ankle, and face injuries. She's now in stable condition.

Sara Yoder—the mother in the buggy—and her baby were also taken to the hospital, but have since been released.

The horse did not survive.
