Buchanan High School is one of five finalist in the Michigan High School Athletic Association's second annual "Battle of the Fans" contest.
They'll find out Friday if they're the loudest and proudest school in all of the state.
"I think we're going to win," said sophomore Sam Swem. "We have a massive student section and votes coming across the country for us."
Schools are judged on several criteria, including positive sportsmanship and student attendance.
And, the Bucks have worked hard all season long to ensure their success.
Eight student leaders attended a sportsmanship conference to get ideas and then developed new cheers, dances and songs.
They held all-school "prep rallies" to teach students the new routines before busting them out at games.
"It motivates the team," Swen said. "It's hard to focus on the stats I got to take some times because it's so loud and crazy."
All of that energy coming from the stands has made Buchanan's gym -- which students call "The Woods" -- a special place to be on hoops night.
The stands aren't only packed with more students these days, but more longtime residents of the community.
"It feels real good everyone being together and being one," said senior Aaron Pastryk.
The winner of "Battle of the Fans" will be announced Friday.
Schools will be judged by a Student Advisory Council, but Facebook votes will also be taken into consideration.
As of Wednesday night, Buchanan led the Facebook poll by thousands of votes.
