Bristol park puts in mountain bike path

If you wanted to explore nature on a different path, Bonneyville Mill County Park in Bristol might have something for you.

Groundbreaking for the first dedicated mountain bike path in Elkhart County took place today.

The trail is around six miles in length and made for beginners and more advanced riders.

"We are excited about building here,” says John Marquardt with the Northern Indiana Mountain Bike Association. ”It's a great terrain to build in and it's really going to fill a gap we think in the mountain bike community."
So far participants have cleared a half-mile of debris and branches.

The goal is to leave the trail as natural as possible and riders are warned to watch out for stumps, bumps and other debris.
