The American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days is underway. For $10 you can bring home a bunch of 10 stems, or give one to a friend, family member or co-worker. Donors also have the option to give an anonymous "gift of hope," which provide vases of flowers for hospitalized cancer patients for $25.
Daffodils are the first flower of spring and have come to symbolize hope for cancer patients and their loved ones for renewed life and a cancer-free world.
The campaign is one of the ACS oldest fundraisers, and is well loved throughout all participating communities. Daffodils are offered to donors as an appreciation for contributions.
The local organization hopes to raise $150,000, to provide funding for programs including day-to-day help, emotional support, 24-hour information, funding for groundbreaking cancer research, education and advocation.
