WNDU in Los Angeles covering #1 Notre Dame as they look to beat USC Saturday night and finish the regular season undefeated. The win would send the Irish to the National Championship game. A position Notre Dame hasn't been in for 24 years.
Jeff Jeffers sat down with Irish coach Brian Kelly for a 1-on-1 conversation for NewsCenter 16's Countdown to Kickoff special at 7:30pm Saturday and asked how the rest of the Kelly family feels.
Kelly: They're much more impressed than I am. Like they'll come up and say, Dad great job being number one. And of course my response is we want to be number one in six weeks. Because that's just how we're wired. They're all fans like everybody else. They're excited about the process.
Jeff: After the game Saturday, Gracie, Kenzie, Patrick, Paqui, your mom and dad. It was touching to see that you were there with your family your team is the family. Manti talks about a family, it really is.
Kelly: Well it starts with coaches. Come here about five o'clock and you'll see kids all over the place from our families eating dinner with the team because at Notre Dame we have such a great opportunity to expose our families to Notre Dame. That's just a wonderful experience.
We'll have more from that conversation Saturday night on Countdown to Kickoff at 7:30 on WNDU.
