Workers will be out Saturday at Park Jefferson Apartments in South Bend, where a fire broke out Friday night.
The fire started around 9 p.m. at the apartments, which are located on East Jefferson.
It destroyed the roof of one building. Officials say it started on the east side of the building, got into the attic, and spread west from there.
Investigators will be at the scene Saturday, but say they will have to be cautious.
"The roof has collapsed, and because of the collapse zone, we have to be very careful when we go in there to make sure that it doesn't collapse anymore than what there is already," says Chico Rodriguez, a fire marshal with the South Bend Fire Department.
Authorities say everyone got out of the apartments, and there no injuries.
We still don't know how many apartments were damaged, but the Red Cross was called in to help the residents find temporary housing.
