Triton falls in 1A boys basketball state finals

Jalen McCoy scored 15 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead Borden to a 55-50 win over Triton on Saturday to capture Indiana's Class A boys basketball state championship.

Michael Lynch had 13 points and Cody Bachman had 10 for the Braves, who won their first state title in any sport in school history.

Clay Yeo had 26 points with six rebounds and Tanner Shepherd had 10 for the Trojans, who were in the state finals for the 4th time in six years.

Yeo finishes his outstanding career at Triton with 1992 career points. He'll play for Bryce Drew at Valpo next season.

The Trojan seniors also lost in the state finals as sophomores.

The Braves survived a late run by the Trojans and scored three 3-pointers midway through the fourth quarter to stay ahead.

They held the Trojans to just two points in the second quarter and took an 18-9 lead by halftime.
