A book written in 1980 is suddenly in high demand because of rumors that former Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels tried to keep it out of classrooms.
Historian Howard Zinn offers alternative views of U.S. history in his book A People's History of the United States.
The Associated Press published emails last month in which Daniels criticized the book and asked for assurance that it wasn't being taught in K-12 classrooms.
Now libraries around the state have seen a run on the book. The St. Joseph County Library ordered 19 more print copies, as well as four electronic copies. Several other libraries have lengthy waiting lists for the book.
