Bond improvements to be unveiled at Bridgman Schools

Going to back to school will be a completely brand new experience for all of the students heading to Bridgman this year.

During summer break, construction crews remodeled the district's three schools.

It's part of an agreement to have everything ready by this fall, after a bond was renewed last November.
Thursday afternoon Bridgman High School held its first game in the newly renovated gymnasium.

Finishing touches are being made before the first day of school on Tuesday.

All of the classrooms are getting new furniture with new computers and whiteboards. Plus the high school is now home to a new football field.

“They passed a 22 million dollar bond in 2009 and then another 1.7 million to finish up some things,” explains Bridgman High School principal Paul Hartsig. “Now we are in the tail end and the technology piece was a huge piece.”

Thursday night there will be a ribbon cutting at the renovated football field before the game against Lake Michigan Catholic.
