Elkhart County, Ind. Biking for a cause, that’s what several people will be doing this Saturday in Elkhart County. It’s all part of the 4th Annual Bloom & Zoom ride.
Starting at 7 a.m. folks can pick from five different routes and start riding their bikes around Elkhart County. Each route has a different distance ranging from 10 miles to 100 miles. Along the way they will stop and enjoy several quilt gardens around the county.
There will be eight different SAG stops where riders can grab a drink or some snacks. The ride coordinator says this isn't a race, it’s a ride and it’s about having fun.
“It is a ride. People can even start when they want to, anytime from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the morning and go out depending on your lifestyle. If you want to sleep in a little bit or depending on what you have to do and you ride at your own pace,” says Paula Turk.
You can register anytime, even the day of the race. It costs $30 per individual and $45 per family. All of the money will go to United Cancer and Habitat for Humanity and stay in Elkhart.
There are three starting locations, Downtown Elkhart, the old bag factory in Goshen and Krider Gardens in Middlebury.
