MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Going back to school can be pricey, especially for first-year teachers.

That's why Better World Books outlet hosts a back to school "Teacher Box Sale."

For $10, teachers can fill up a box with as many children's books as they want.

All they need is a valid educator's ID. Then they can fill four boxes and get a fifth one for free.

First-year teachers receive a free box of books with no purchase necessary.

Better World Books says it can't sell these books because they're overstocked, not because they're in poor condition.

“These are the ones we can't use on our shelves,” Tara Gilchrist explained, “but they're still in such great shape and somebody can use them. We do everything we can to not recycle them and this is just one great use we can put together.”

“As teachers, we spend a lot of money - hundreds, thousands of dollars every year - just to get our classroom ready,” Amber Spalding said. “This is just a great opportunity to get books for our classrooms.”

There's no limit on the number of boxes teachers could take home.

Better World Books plans to have another sale next year.
