MISHAWAKA, Ind. Bethel College will be hosting more than 100 scouts and 61 leaders this weekend.

They are participating in the Boy Scouts of America Annual Winter Advancement Camp. The camp’s chairman David Harnish, of the LaSalle Council, sees the event as an opportunity for first-time participants to make friends outside their troop.

“They get to see other scouts from different areas and work with other scouts that have the same interests that they do.”

The camp started Friday and ends Saturday.

All of the scouts will be sleeping over in one of the bethel college gyms.

They will play basketball, cards, watch movies, and eat plenty of snacks.
