Best selling author to speak about bullying, school violence

When school violence and bullying make headlines in the news, so many of us wonder how can we make changes that will keep kids safe and help them build healthy relationships.

An international bestselling author and speaker is in South Bend today to help share important advice.

“My goal is to raise not the bully, not the bullied nor those not so innocent bystanders. It’s to raise a fourth character; that witness, resister and defender that will speak up, the kid that will stand up,” said author Barbara Coloroso.

There will be two presentations on Monday afternoon and evening, both on different topics. Both are at John Adams High School in South Bend and are free to attend.

3:30-5 p.m.
“Just Because It's Not Wrong, Doesn't Make It Right: How Parents and Educators Can Help Break the Cycle of Violence and Help Create more Deeply Caring Communities."

6-7:30 p.m.
"Parenting with Wit and Wisdom: Raising Responsible, Resilient, Compassionate Kids."
