Berrien Springs-Oronoko Police Chief suing over investigation

A Michiana police chief is suing over an investigation that's put him on leave for months.

Berrien Springs-Oronoko Township Police Chief Milt Agay filed the lawsuit in federal court.

According to our reporting partners at the Herald Palladium, Agay said he's being punished for opposing alleged illegal activity by his township

The township has hired a consultant to look into their police department.

Agay has worked for the department for 14 years, with seven years as chief.
