Berrien Springs High School students attended the annual Cultural Awareness Assembly Wednesday.
Those in attendance may have felt like they were in another country rather than Michiana with the different songs and dances that were performed. One of the students at the school talked to NewsCenter 16 about what he thinks the performers get from the event.
“They realize how important their culture is to them and to other people as well and that they're not just another country,” said Preston a sophomore at Berrien Springs High School. “They are important.”
The Cultural Awareness Assembly is an annual event at the school.
