The federal government is investigating the Berrien County Road Commission over accusations about a hostile work environment and financial mismanagement.
WSJM reports that former managing director Rhonda Hildebrand and four others were ousted last year, following the complaints.
This week, agents from the U.S. Department of Transportation have been in the county, interviewing staff members and going through old records.
