Berrien County has resolved a dispute with the state, getting them out of $700,000 bind.

Last spring, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation demanded Berrien County repay large sums of grant money.

The state said the county did not comply with funding requirements for two economic development projects-- the Watervliet Industrial Park and Harbor Light Metals.

That is according to our reporting partners at The Herald Palladium.

It took months of work, but county officials now say they have sent in all the required paperwork, and the cases have been closed.
