Students in Benton Harbor are getting more help as they prepare to further their education.
Officials unveiled the Benton Harbor College Access Network Friday.
It is a resource at Western Michigan's southwest campus that helps high school students prepare for college.
Advisers are on hand to help with everything from dorm life to financial aid.
Countryside Charter Academy student Rakeisha Jackson said, “This program is actually very exciting for my family because it gives us and opportunity to go and experience colleges. It's actually something to look forward to because we can be the first one on our family to make a difference and go to college and pursue our dreams.”
The center goes hand in hand with Benton Harbor's "Promise" scholarship, which gives graduating students free tuition to any community college for two years.
