Benton Harbor Benton Harbor has decided to settle with a former building inspector for work that was never paid for.

The city will pay just over $75,000 to Walter Martlew, who sued after his contract was ended in 2011 by the city's emergency manager at the time.

According to our reporting partners at The Stacey Page Online say the Herald-Palladium, courts ruled in Martlew's favor initially, and in an appeal.

The city's decision to pay up still has to be approved by the receivership transition advisory board.
