Benton Harbor Concerns from the Benton Harbor community are now in the hands of a state financial review board, as it decides if an emergency should be declared for the school district.
An hour-long public meeting was held last night at Benton Harbor High School. The board has until August 22nd to make a decision.
Superintendent Dr. Leonard Seawood spoke, saying he wants to be transparent about how the administration is preparing for whatever the decision may be.
According to our reporting partners at WSJM , the board will file a public report on the district's $15 million debt as soon as a decision is reached.
