Benton Harbor, Mich. Benton Harbor held a third town hall meeting on Wednesday night to discuss a proposed city income tax.

If the tax is approved in future months, residents would pay one percent and non-residents half a percent.

According to our reporting partners at WSJM Radio, a councilwoman from Muskegon Heights spoke in favor of the tax tonight saying that it has been nothing but good for her city.

At the next meeting, a proposal will be presented by city leaders regarding final tax figures and expectations.

A date has not been set for that meeting.
