MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The community pulled together Saturday to help a Mishawaka woman who was hit by an alleged drunk driver while she was out for a morning jog.

The crash happened in May on Jefferson Boulevard.

Thirty-year-old Tiffany Brantley suffered serious injuries in her legs.

She was a part-time worker at World Gym in Mishawaka, and Saturday the gym held a benefit in her honor.

There was live music, games and food for sale with proceeds going toward helping Brantley pay her medical bills.

“We have a citizen who had a bumpy road or something unfortunate happens, we all rise to the occasion and put ourselves aside and put someone else in front of us," said Dave Hogue. "And it's an outstanding show of community support.”

Quentin Burnley, 23, is accused of driving drunk.

He's charged with "causing serious bodily injury while operating a vehicle while intoxicated," a felony.
