Breakfast to benefit toddler fighting deadly disease

Osceola, Ind. An Osceola family has been through a lot over the past two and a half years.

Baby Ella Lanay Hunt was born with a rare disease called spinal muscular atrophy or SMA, which is almost always fatal.

We first introduced you to Ella when she was just six months old. The life expectancy for a child with this disease is less than two years. The family feels blessed to say she's now two and a half.

They have a big fundraising effort underway and you can help out this weekend.

A pancake breakfast, being organized by the Parrot Heads in Michiana, will be held at Osceola Grace Brethren Church on Apple Rd. in Osceola from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 29. Tickets cost $8 per person.

You can get them via Ella’s Facebook page, at the church or by emailing the Parrot Heads at socialdirector@parrotheadsinmichiana.org.
