Basketball and heart health clinic with Notre Dame Men's Basketball

Members of the community were shooting hoops under the watchful eye of Notre Dame's men's basketball coach, Mike Brey.

But it wasn't just dribbling and shooting that the participants were schooled in, they also got a lesson in how to take care of their hearts.

Brey teamed up with the American Heart Association to tackle the number-one killer of men in America: heart disease.

It was a one day "Tip-Off for Heart" camp that gave men basketball and health tips from the team's nutritionists, cardiologists and strength experts.

"While we're having fun, you want some guys going out of here and maybe they change their lifestyle starting tomorrow with hey man I learned a lot. Wake up tomorrow and say my lifestyle is gonna change - a healthier lifestyle," said participant MIke Lewandowski.

About 30 men showed up for the breakout clinic, but Brey says he expects many more to sign up as word gets about about future sessions.
