Watervliet Watervliet's Fire Department could be short more than a half million dollars, after a mistake in the wording of an august ballot.

Earlier in August, residents voted yes to two fire levies to go in effect from 2016 to 2019, but officials forgot to put levies for 2015 on the ballot.

In an effort to fix the issue, the township board met this and decided to put the issue on the November ballot. However they found out afterward, they'd just missed the deadline.

The board is now considering holding a special election next year, according to our reporting partners at The Herald-Palladium.
