Four men were injured Sunday during an evening shooting.
Residents on the city's northeast side started calling the Elkhart County 911 Center at around 9:30 p.m. reporting sounds of gunfire.
Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Middlebury St., near the intersection of School St., to investigate.
Around the same time, IU Health Goshen Hospital reported four injured suspects arrived after transporting themselves to the hospital without the assistance of emergency personnel.
According to the Goshen Police Department, those victims are Angel Marquez, 18, of Goshen, treated for gunshot wound to his upper left arm; Jose Gonzalez, 19, of Goshen, treated for bullet fragment injuries to his right thigh and back; Juan Deigo Rodriguez, 18, of Goshen, treated for a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
A fourth, 17-year-old, victim refused treatment for a minor abrasion.
During the investigation, police learned that a group of people including the four victims were outside the home of Mr. Rodriguez. While the group was gathered at the residence, two vehicles approached the group and fired shots. The four listed victims were the only reported injuries.
It is believed that this incident is not a random act of violence. The identities of the suspects are currently unknown. They were described only as multiple, young, Hispanic males.
The incident remains under investigation.
