WARSAW UPDATE: Warsaw police have arrested Daniel Ybarra, Jr., a man who they say was responsible for an early-morning armed robbery.

Police responded early Thursday morning to an armed robbery at the Lassus Handy Dandy on Plaza Drive.

The suspect claimed he needed money to feed his kids.

According to a clerk, the man entered the store around 4:00 a.m. and started acting strangely.

When the other customers left, he showed the clerk a handgun and threatened to shoot, saying something along the lines of "I gotta feed my babies."

The clerk said the man wore a red bandana around his neck and face and used another red bandana in his hand to cover his face.

The clerk gave him money and the suspect left the store, walking south.

At approximately noon Thursday, Warsaw Police detectives took 30-year-old Daniel Ybarra, Jr. into custody.

He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on the charge of armed robbery, a Class B felony.
